The GREEN events | Baltimore email list and webpage aims to create an awareness of the current sustainable events in the Baltimore MD area, including education, volunteer, and networking opportunities. Its objective is to link events, organizations, and resources easily and efficiently and to keep the community connected, educated and inspired.
THE HISTORY
The inspiration for the “green events” email list (that some of you may already be subscribed to), came from the author’s experiences of attending local green events and learning of other great events occurring at the same time – and neither organizer, nor attendees knew of the other. The first calendar and email list started in 2001, when Lisa Ferretto lived in Portland, Oregon. In 2005, after moving back to her hometown of Baltimore, Lisa re-connected with local sources of green events and individuals.
THE FUTURE
The future vision of GREEN events | Baltimore starts with this webpage and interactive calendar. The home page calendar allows the community to view events by month, week, or as a list. Individual events or the entire calendar can be added to your personal calendar and directions can be mapped. In addition, you can look into the future to plan your green event.
One of the future goals is to offer the ability to sort and filter events by category making it easier to find activities matching your specific interests. For example, you may only be interested in events on energy, ones that offer CEUs, or family friendly events. Another goal is expand the resources by connecting directly with our local Baltimore GREEN organizations. Stay tuned for updates and improvements!

These events are not being specifically endorsed, have not been reviewed for content, but are publicly posted events – assembled here for ease of reference. As mentioned above, the goal is to – easily and efficiently - link events, organizations, and resources, and to keep the community connected, educated and inspired.
